How to design your banner with AI
1. Choose your banner size
Open the banner designer, select the size you need, and choose Create with AI. The AI workspace uses your selected banner dimensions.
Decide where the banner will hang before you begin. Measure the available space and think about whether people will read it up close or from farther away. Let the location guide the design: a banner across a storefront needs a different balance of text and imagery than one behind a small event table.
2. Describe what you want
Tell the designer what the banner is for, what it should say, and how you want it to feel. You don't need design terminology. Write the request as though you're explaining it to someone helping with your event or business.
For example:
Create a grand-opening banner for Oak Street Coffee. Use my uploaded logo, warm cream and dark green colors, and a welcoming neighborhood feel. Make "GRAND OPENING" the largest text. Add "Fresh coffee. Homemade pastries." underneath. Keep the background simple and the wording easy to read from the sidewalk.
That's a useful starting point because it gives the design a purpose, a main message, a color direction, and a viewing context.

3. Add your logo, products, or people
Your banner doesn't have to rely entirely on AI-generated imagery.
Upload your logo, a product photo, a team picture, or another image you want included. You can also provide an image as a visual reference for the style you're after.
Think about what makes the banner yours: your bakery's pastries, your team's photo, or the logo customers recognize from your storefront. Give those elements a clear role in the description.
Use clear source images, and upload images you own or have permission to use. Review how the logo and photos appear in the generated design before moving forward. AI can make mistakes, so check the result rather than assuming every detail has been preserved.
4. Make changes and choose your favorite version
The first design is a starting point. Use Edit with AI to explain what you would like changed.
Try a specific request such as "Make the headline larger and simplify the background," or "Use the colors from my logo and keep the wording the same."
You can review saved design versions and select the one you prefer. That means you can compare an edit with an earlier version before deciding which artwork to use.
When you're ready, select your preferred version and choose Use selected version & continue.
5. Review your banner and complete your order
Your selected artwork moves into the banner configurator. Review the full preview, confirm your size and finishing options, and check the order details before paying.
Pay particular attention to names, dates, phone numbers, spelling, image placement, and anything close to the edges. Standard online orders do not include a separate digital proof, so make this final review part of your process.

Design a family-friendly fall festival banner. Use pumpkins, autumn leaves, and warm orange, gold, and cream colors. The headline should say "FALL FESTIVAL." Add "Games • Food • Family Fun" and "October 17 • 4–8 PM." Include my uploaded school logo. Make the headline the main focus and keep the date easy to find.
A team celebration banner
Create a volleyball team celebration banner using my uploaded team photo and logo. Use navy and white with bold, athletic lettering. The headline should say "LET'S GO, WILDCATS!" Make the team photo prominent, keep the layout uncluttered, and leave breathing room around the wording.
These are sample creative requests, not fixed templates. Adjust the message, colors, images, and style to fit your occasion.
Keep the message simple
Before adding another line of text, ask: What is the one thing someone should remember after seeing this banner?
Build around that answer. For a sale, it might be the offer. For an event, it might be the name and date. For a grand opening, it might simply be that you're open for business.
A useful starting layout is one main headline, one supporting message, and one clear next step. Give the important words room instead of trying to fit an entire flyer onto a banner.
